01 What files do you need to quote a milled part?
A 3D STEP (or STP) file plus a 2D PDF drawing is ideal: the model carries the geometry, the drawing carries tolerances and notes. STL and SLDPRT files work too, and a ZIP is fine for multi-part jobs. If you only have one of those, send what you have.
02 Is there a minimum order for CNC milling?
No. One bracket, five housings, or a full production run: small quantities are welcome and quoted the same way as large ones.
03 What tolerances are typical for milled parts?
Around ±0.005 in is standard for milled features. Tighter tolerances can be held on request: call out the critical dimensions on your drawing and the part will be quoted and inspected to that spec.
04 What materials can be milled?
Aluminum, steel, stainless, titanium, brass, copper, and engineering plastics like Delrin, nylon, and PEEK. If your part needs something specific, mention it when you send the files.
05 How long do milled parts take?
Quotes usually come back within 24-48 hours. Standard lead time is 4-6 weeks after you approve the quote; rush jobs can ship in 1-2 weeks.
