Machined parts for research: one-off apparatus, test rigs, and lab equipment parts.
Need machined parts for research: a one-off test rig, a vacuum or optomechanical component, a custom fixture, or a replacement lab equipment part? Send a 2D PDF or a 3D STEP file and a real person will quote it in 24-48 hours, with a free DFM review included. There’s no minimum order, purchase orders and net terms are fine for universities and labs, and every part is inspected before it ships.

What We Make
Research moves on one-off and low-volume parts that have to be right the first time: custom apparatus and test rigs, vacuum-chamber and optomechanical components, sample holders and fixtures, and the odd lab equipment part that no catalog sells. University research machining often means a single iteration of something nobody has built before, so send your STEP files and drawings (or a sketch and a conversation) and the team will quote it, get it made, inspect it against your print, and ship it. One part is a normal order here.

How It Works
Send your STEP files and drawings. You get a real quote (material, price, and lead time) usually within 24-48 hours.
Approve the quote and we’ll get your parts made, and keep you posted along the way.
The team reviews every part against your print before anything ships.
Your parts ship to you with tracking. If something isn’t right, we stand behind it and make it right.
Questions
One-off and low-volume work is the core of research machining here. A single test fixture or a handful of sample holders is a normal order, with no minimum, quoted the same way a production run would be. For an iterative build, prototype CNC machining and small-batch CNC machining cover the next steps once the first part proves out.
Yes. Purchase orders are welcome and net terms are available for universities, national labs, and established research groups. Send the PO or your procurement requirements with the files and the quote is written to match.
Yes. Every quote includes a free DFM review: a real person reads your print and flags the tolerance, finish, or fit issues that would otherwise cost time and money after you ordered. For experimental parts that have never been built, that second read is often where the project saves the most.
Standard work runs around ±0.005 in, with sealing faces, optical mounts, and locating features held tighter on request (down to ±0.0001-0.0002 in where ground or wire-EDM work is called for). Call the critical features out on the drawing and each part is inspected to them before it ships.
This page is for R&D and scientific research: custom apparatus, test rigs, and lab equipment parts for university and national labs. If you build or supply clinical devices and laboratory instruments, the medical and lab instruments page is the better fit. Either way, send the files and you get a quote in 24-48 hours.
